Retail Industry
Introduction
The below projects help improve the customer experience, manage stock efficiently, and predict sales. I focus on using data to understand customer needs and help retailers respond quickly to changes in the market.
Amazon E-Commerce Sales Analysis
This project examines Amazon e-commerce data to uncover insights that drive profitability. Analysis reveals that medium-sized products and top-performing categories are key revenue drivers, suggesting a strategic focus on these areas to maximise sales. Monthly sales trends show a peak in April and a dip in December, providing opportunities to align campaigns and inventory with these seasonal patterns. Regionally, Maharashtra leads in sales, indicating that tailored, location-specific strategies could enhance market reach. Additionally, with Amazon fulfilling 69% of orders and a strong preference for expedited delivery, optimising speed without sacrificing cost-efficiency could improve customer satisfaction and retention. Overall, these insights offer a data-driven approach to elevate e-commerce performance through optimised marketing, inventory, and regional strategies.
Analysis of Brazillian E-Commerce (OList)
In this project, I conducted an in-depth analysis of Olist's Brazilian e-commerce dataset, examining over 100,000 orders made between 2016 and 2018. Using PowerBI, I uncovered significant growth insights, including a 1,984.6% increase in payment value and a substantial rise in customer numbers. Health & Beauty led product sales, while late deliveries significantly decreased over time, enhancing delivery reliability. Additionally, credit card payments dominated at 78.34% of the total payment value.
These findings suggest strategic directions for Olist, such as optimizing delivery efficiency, diversifying product offerings, enhancing credit card-based promotions, and maintaining consistent performance monitoring to drive continued growth in Brazil's e-commerce landscape.
Navigating Sales Dynamics
This project involved analysing company sales data from January 2018 to October 2019 using Microsoft Excel for data cleaning and visualisation. Key insights emerged from revenue and order analysis, revealing that the company generated a total revenue of $2,028,591 from just 20 customers, indicating high growth potential through customer-focused strategies. Regionally, Texas led with 26% of revenue, while Item 1 was the top revenue earner, contributing 36% of the total.
Further analysis highlighted that 91% of the 2,000 orders were valid, underscoring operational efficiency, with Company B as a leading client in product purchases. Recommendations include leveraging top-performing sales and product insights for customer-centric strategies, implementing targeted regional marketing, and reducing the 9% invalid order rate to enhance operational effectiveness.
Exploring Istanbul's Shopping Landscape
This project analyses Istanbul's retail trends from 2021 to 2023. It reveals that millennials (ages 25-40) are the primary shoppers, generating 68.6 million Turkish Liras in sales, with women making up 60% of the customer base. Cash transactions dominate at 45%, while major sales occur at Mall of Istanbul and Kanyon Mall.
Key findings highlight clothing as the top category at 31 million Turkish Liras and fluctuations in sales throughout the year. Recommendations include creating cash-based offers for tourists, collaborating with popular malls for loyalty programs, launching seasonal promotions, and enhancing the souvenir market through local artisan partnerships.
